Personality Number
NumerologyDefinition
The numerology number calculated from the consonants of the full birth name, representing how a person presents to others and how they appear in social situations.
Origin
The consonant-only calculation completes the Pythagorean numerology triad (Life Path from birth date, Soul Urge from vowels, Personality from consonants). The triad was assembled in early 20th-century American numerology.
Development
Calculate by summing only the consonant values of the full birth name and reducing. Y is treated as a consonant when it acts as one. The number describes the social mask, first impressions and the part of the self that is most visible to others.
In Practice
A Personality 3 is perceived as bubbly and creative regardless of the deeper Soul Urge. A Personality 4 reads as serious and reliable. The Personality often differs from how the person sees themselves, especially in introverted types whose Soul Urge stays hidden.
Deeper Reading
The Personality number is the Jungian persona — the social mask, often acquired in childhood, that protects the inner self. Becoming aware of Personality vs. Soul Urge can free a person from over-identifying with their public role, a common midlife task.
